Niobium Sheet is a cold rolled and vacuum annealed product made up of niobium. The commercially pure niobium products are used in high end applications such as super coolers, superconductors and supercolliders in particle acceleration applications. Navstar Steel is a supplier of the Niobium Plate in different grades and dimensions. There are various forms of the sheets such as the coils, foils and strips.
The ASTM B393 UNS R04200 Coil is produced through cold rolling procedures and has chemically pure surface for various reactive applications. The high end applications include synthetic diamond production, sputtering targets for fiber optic applications and others.
The UNS R04210 Pure Niobium Plate is used in nuclear reactors and in particle accelerators. These are used in the production of nickel based superalloys and superconductors. The Niobium Alloy Strip and sheets can come in different grades. There are type 1 and 2 specifications. The type 1 is called the reactor grade and has 0.1% maximum impurities, and the type 2 is the commercial grade which allows up to 0.2% impurities.
